Hi guys,
Just got my new iPad 32/3G but I think there is a problem. Indeed i saw a mark on the black frame (right in the middle/ under the glass) I saw any of these "marks" on the models in store (but there was only wifi ones)
Any advice welcome
The store is closed now... I ll go tomorrow morning.

ps : sorry about the picture (3g rules 🙂) the mark is right next to the light bulb ("in the lamp")

Thanks

That would be the ambient light sensor. A simple Google search or looking over the Apple Spec Page could have told you that.

Yes, it's the ambient light sensor.

How can you have a dead pixel on the black frame? That's not screen.

Thanks to all.
For sure i feel dumb now... But i m the kind of guy who got the XX percent of break items.
I made a rapid search online...but knew i would got fast answers here.

@ Surely: I know i couldn't have a dead pixel on frame but English isn't my native langage so ...that was the easiest way for me to explain.

I didn't plug in yet hope the real dead pixel don't show up /gasp 🙂

Hey...cut him a break...🙂

I, personally, would much rather see a thread like this with an innocent question from somebody not as well-versed in the "jargon," than the typical, "The iPad is too heavy for me...Waaa...Waaa...Waaa..." whining threads...

Just sayin'...

Sorry OP but my co worker think i'm crazy for laughing out loud. 😀 but in serious note, that is in fact the ambient sensor light like everyone said. Anyways, welcome to iPad community 😉

Before you freak out, that little hole on top next to the headphone jack is just the built-in microphone. It's nothing to be concerned with, we all have it on ours, too. 🙂

Congrats on the new iPad by the way!

hey,
I've also just recently got my new iPad 🙂 it's a 32GB WiFi one. I found a dead pixel 2 days after I got it. I ran the RGB test to see if it was actually dead and the pixel just didn't change. I was wondering whether I could get a replacement for my iPad when I go back home to London. I'm in HK at the moment and just got it here.

ahh okay.thanks a lot. just getting worried because i just got it and it was a gift from someone. and normally my apple products are fine. I keep looking at the dead pixel now i know its there and it pisses me off -.-🙁 damn screen!

Thanks to all.

Don't feel bad. Everyone makes mistakes. Just accept yours with good humor.
