I never use Facetime. If I could call Windows PCs and other mobile phones with video chat capabilities, I know I would use it more. 98% of my friends have Androids/W7/BB/Palm phones and Windows computers :(

There's a free app called Tango that you and your friends can use to communicate between devices. I have an iPhone 4 and my friend has an HTC Thunderbolt and we use Tango to video chat with eachother.

But I agree I do wish there was native functionality I think it would get used much more often now that the majority of Smartphones have front facing cameras.

I used to use FaceTime before my fiancee and I moved in together. The average use was about 2-4 times a week, maybe 15-20min at a time.

I used to use it, but I think eventually my girlfriend got fed up of seeing my hideous face and just started phoning me again. Unlucky for her, we moved in together last month.

The trick is to use it a few times to get used to it. After about 3 or 4 times, talking to the person normally seems weird.

What I don't understand is people's reluctance to talk to someone face to face. I don't get why the fear and apprehension exists. Is that that we're getting more used to talking to people via text messages that we're now afraid to actually look at them while we're talking?

Boy times sure are changing.

I use it a minimum of 6 times per week for anywhere between 5 minutes to an hour or so. The calls drop all the time though on my home wifi connection and I've never been able to figure out why. Anyone else have facetime calls drop frequently?

I use Skype since FaceTime is unreliable. Average video call is around 40 mins+. This is also due to international video calling.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon iPhone 4: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/534.32 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8F190 Safari/6533.18.5)

Hardly ever since none of my friends have iPhone 4s. But when I do have FaceTime convo its usually 30sec~1min.

Thanks for that info! I'll check it out!

I tried testing it once and there was some connectivity problem.. haven't bothered since. Besides, the front camera's VGA quality leaves much to be desired.

While in train up for deployment, I used it once a week for a little less than an hour at a time with my girlfriend using My3G. Sorry if I hogged your bandwidth fellas, but I was desperate and I wanted to see my kid as well. There was no wifi on the base.

Sometimes I need to talk to someone while getting some chores done and it's a lot easier to put a BT headset on and do what I need to do instead of holding the phone/propping it up and making sure I'm in the shot.

Good friend in TN: At least an hour plus, once every week to two weeks
Mom & Dad: 15-30 min, once or twice a month
In-laws: Once in a while over skype though as they don't have a Mac or iDevice
