There & Back Again
Hey all, I've been trying to scour sites for this info and can't seem to find anything about it.

Can you create Reminders offline using Siri?

This would be a huge feature for me. Just curious if any new watch owners can confirm this, thanks!

With the S9/Ultra 2, yes. S8/U1 and earlier, no.

* I have an S8, and just going by what I heard in the Apple release. I'm sure someone will chime in with a real world confirmation.

Siri on iPhone can create reminders without connection, but yeah we will have to wait and see if the S9/Ultra can do it. Guess would be yes.

Thanks for the responses - I seriously hope that is the case. I live and die by Reminders, and I go out for a walk every morning without my phone, but its those moments when I need to make a note to do something, and I tell myself I need to remember that, then 3 seconds later its gone! I run two companies and am a project manager, so Reminders are critical to me and I'd love that feature.

Yes, I can confirm that Siri will create reminders without any cellular or WiFi connection active. I have the Ultra 2.

I wasn’t going to upgrade this year but I’m an avid runner who leaves his phone at home. When I heard “onboard Siri” I knew I needed the latest watch. I use Siri for everything when running.

Came here to ask this exact question. I have the Series 7, and whenever I ask it to add something to my grocery list it takes 5 seconds or more. Half the time it fails entirely. Hoping onboard Siri will fix this.

If you're connected to WiFi but give Siri a command that could be done onboard, will it still do it offline/quickly?

Yes, it’s almost instant.

I liked Siri before but now I love it. I almost whispered a request today and Siri heard it and responded instantly. If I say it too loud my iPad or computer grabs it too. But with this S9 and the new Siri it's incredible, using it for more and more.

A cellular connection would have been a lot cheaper!

Yep, just turned off WiFi and dictated a detailed reminder with no issues. That's worth it alone for me.
