For songs available in lossless, and with settings>streaming set as lossless, the mac music.app often does not play the lossless version (no

) logo in the now playing display. For the same song, sometime it shows, sometimes not. The 'click red play button' or 'add to library' does not seem to work.
(macOS Sonoma 14.5, M1 macbook pro if it matters)
There have been some early discussions on this, but they does not appear to have some clear solution. Any updates on that? Thanks!

I have a similar problem. If I initially play a High-Res Lossless song from Apple Music from my iPhone to HomePod minis. It will play it as a Lossless format. I have to start playing music from YouTube first and then switch to Apple Music for it to play the correct formats. Not sure if it’s a bug or not.
