"on my mac" ical/address book gone

Hello,

I am having a lot of trouble with iCloud.

First, I deleted some contacts in iCloud this morning and it reappear in the evening. My mac address isn't sycning with iCloud so i toggle the switch in system preferrence and now it's working BUT the list of my contacts under "on my mac" is gone!!!!

I would like to keep a copy of my contacts and ical in my mac because i don't trust online stuff that much. Any way of getting it back?

Can anyone please help? iCloud is ridiculous. It's a great idea but it needs to get everything to work out before releasing it!
