On screen keyboard apps for MacOS?

Running an iPad as display (using Yam) which works well, however I cannot get a keyboard to open when clicking in a text box.

I managed to get the on-screen keyboard tool enabled from Accessibility, however the keyboard only opens when you tap the icon in the menu bar.

So the question is does anyone know of a MacOS app (free or paid) that will allow an on-screen keyboard when a text input box is selected?
