Hopefully this will lead to more titles being released from Appletv+.
I want Greyhound on 4K disc !

Agreed, good film. My most wanted streaming titles that don’t yet have a physical media release are Wolfwalkers and The Aeronauts (Amazon). And just about everything Disney+ is making.

Choices and options are good everyone! I understand why streaming services want exclusives, but there are still good arguments for the availability of physical media IMHO.

For most people and most movies, BluRay makes no sense. This one included. For bigger, special effects-driven movies that take advantage of Dolby Atmos/Vision, HD audio etc, BluRay actually makes sense. The audio/video fidelity is way better if you have a home theater system that can take advantage of it. Streaming is usually 25mbps, whereas BluRay can hit over 100mbs. There's also usually extra footage, deleted scenes, and other stuff that I guess some people still care about. There's also the offline factor and the "it's yours even if the service removes the movie" situation. Streaming quality is more than enough for most people with most setups, but there still is a place for BluRay. As for the DVD release... why??

I'm a huge Apple TV+ fanboy but this movie was terrible.
Compared to..?
I mean; I don’t have much tolerance for most stuff from the last decade or so due to the cringe and forced absurdity, so I’d probably probably avoid this anyway unless there was some content to commend it.
Like Mann people; I’m simply finding the music and movies to be far better from before I existed or was old enough to go to the cinema.
Why are you surprised? DVD hasn't gone anywhere.
I’m surprised at the tenacity in the face of BR alone: Why would you buy one?
I assume it would be to keep/own a physical copy, but the DVD price is relatively large for a completely inferior product. Unlike something such as a CD where there isn’t really a better (physical) alternative, or the complete tactility of vinyl.

exactly: ownership vs forever rental. Albeit, I own many DVDs that I have not watched multiple times. And if I have a DVD that I can stream, I will often stream due to higher resolution. But it is nice to know that it is on the shelf and its availability is not subject to the whims of a streaming service.

Was excited when this one was announced, but the "user" reviews wee not good and kinda forgot about it. Guess if I'm ever going to watch it I should before it leaves!

Who is this for? Family members of those involved in the making of the movie?

I started to think of the last time I saw a DVD-drive on a mac. After some googling, it was dropped from the last mac (macbook pro non-retina) year 2012. Its awhile

I think your definition of "anywhere" might be different than most people. I haven't had a DVD player hooked up in my house in probably 7 or 8 years. I can't remember the last time I saw a DVD player for sale anywhere, especially in a location of prominence... maybe the back corner of Best Buy by the car stereos. Sure I have some DVDs that I would like to watch again, and if I wanted to, I could hook up my PS3 and watch them. But I'm not about to go out and buy a new DVD.

No, my definition is just fine, walk into any Walmart or Best Buy and you have an entire ROW of Blu-ray/DVD AND players, not sure where you are looking

I'm not necessarily buying them, but people still do. I'm looking to possibly get an XBOX or PS and get some older stuff so me and my kids can watch them, I do have HULU/NETFLIX/DISNEY Plus but not always something worth watching.

Sounds like Lion Gate stopped by and said hey, how about we put this out on DVD for you? Apple: Really?! Lion Gate: Yeah. Apple: sure, as long as you’re paying.

Disappointed there is no UHD-BD. I don’t have a ton of interest in this specific film but as others have said there are many streaming films/series that deserve a high-quality physical media release.

Just did some quick googling - not the most accurate numbers but I bet its close - DVD sales right now are at the same level they were in 1998. I'm not saying you're wrong about them being available still, but they are definitely a dying industry. DVDs are definitely going somewhere.... and that somewhere is down.

In reference to this story about this AppleTV+ showing being released on DVD.... Why would I pay for a physical copy of a movie that I plan to watch once when I could pay for an entire month of AppleTV+ for less?

while I don’t want to watch this film off apple+ which I have, supporting physical media is great.

remember, Often discs include digital too, and not everyone wants another subscription.

For a moment there I thought this was “Lost in Translation 2”. She just looks like young Scarlett Johansson in that shot.

Gather amazing talent and put out a crappy picture. Same thing on Netflix- Gunpowder Milkshake and its ridiculous John Wick retread plot line managed to make Karen Gillan look unattractive, while wasting the acting talents of Lean Headley and Paul Giamatti. Stopped watching about half-way thru...

Maybe it's for the same reason that cassette tapes are still selling (and growing)

I'm not sure anyone here making jokes about DVD being the same as NTSC have ever actually watched VHS movies on a tube TV (check out YouTube for old tv clips for a real comparison). Also, in the streaming era, it makes sense to buy CDs and rent DVDs as you can rip them digitally and play the files on any device. If you want to downgrade the CD audio to streaming size to fit more files on your device, that's an easy option. Or if you want to hear the music exactly as the artist intended in a full size rip, you can do that too. You don't need the discs themselves after ripping except as backups or collectors items.

Phoebe Bridgers' Punisher was mastered by the legendary Bob Ludwig. I would advise everyone to do themselves and Phoebe a favor and purchase her album on CD so you can then hear the difference even on Apple Music.

Bill Murray always looks like he just woke up and lost his weed so he decided he would make a movie on his way to the dispensary.

Why do some always think their worldview on anything is universal? #N=1 experience

This was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I was shocked when the end credits started rolling.
