I re-watched the Awe Dropping event intro for the AirPods Pro 3's and watches and carefully paid attention to when the features of Hypertension, live translate, and even Workout Buddy etc. were brought up. At face value, by spoken words and the pinboard graphic showing the features at the end of each segment, it most definitely sounds like all the described features arrive with the new AirPod Pros and new watches, etc., and NOT necessarily via the 26 operating system updates for certain prior-year hardware.
Shame on Apple and anyone who intentionally tries to deceive something they're selling.
You believe that no one has tried to mislead anyone since the 1970’s? “As long as I’m not talking to a used car salesman in the 70’s, I can trust whatever this person is saying to me and whatever they’re showing to me! So glad the world is so trustworthy and I can spend my money freely knowing that I’m going to get exactly what their slick presentation shows with no research required whatsoever!”
Smart people know there are many out there who willingly mislead, either via intentional means or by holding back certain details, shameful as it may be. I expect more from myself, my child, my wife, my politicians, my favorite companies, my favorite websites, etc. I don't expect to have to investigate every point made on an advertisement, and nobody should.
And we unfortunately have to work within the world of who freely admit to being ok with being tricky and non-transparent when selling something:
...
The fact that companies can count on people NOT doing research is not the fault of the companies. And, it’s not limited to companies, this should be the standard operating procedure for ANY time someone wants your money.
...
There’s a LOT of people out there hoping that most folks make that choice.
Lack of transparency and honesty, just because a company or person can, does not make it acceptable.
