Not again with the 1ghz Ti, they were just updated and well updated tO SAY THE LEAST! There isnt going to be a Ti update for quite a bit of time. Apple has to reap the rewards for this cycle on the Ti before they even think about another speed bump on the Ti.

Its all about PowerMacs this time around.
PowerMacs all the way, that the smart money.
Any Ti upgrades isnt a rumor its merely wishful thinking for those that havent bought the most recent one.

There's no reason for a digital camera to have a 5 gig drive unless it did video. I doubt most digital camera users have anything more than a 128mb card in their cameras (I have a 256mb card and I can take 120+ pics at 4 Mpxls).

But I do like your thinking in terms of a new model of the iPod. There were rumors a while ago about Apple testing out 5+ types of digital hub gizmos.

My predictions:

1. PowerMac G4 1.4ghz with DDR ram and brand spanking new tower case! A new tower design would be a big deal, even if 1.4ghz and DDR doesn't impress people.

2. iMac upgraded to 1 ghz, but NO 17" LCD. If anything, I think they'll try to lower their prices (not raise them to accomodate a 17" LCD) so that the iMac is more competitive with the eMac which most people seems to think is the better buy.

3. A new iPod. No idea what exactly this might be. But I doubt a Tivo-like device for some reason. I just don't see Apple getting into the TV market. If anything, a portable mpeg 4 player.

4. Some sort of update to the LCD line. I've heard that the LCD supply is stabilizing. They've had the existing lineup forever, it seems. My guess would be a price cut across the line. I would LOVE to see Apple do a 19" LCD for under a grand, but that's probably just a fantasy at this point.

5. Another preview of Jaguar and QT6 with more definitive plans and dates.

That seems like a pretty full keynote to me. I seems like Apple has made updates and new announcements on just about every other front.

I can definitely see that happening, good call.

I mean, this would only make sense since apple created a gadget to accompany itunes, why won't they create a gadget to accompany iphoto? Having a 3-5 megapixel camera with a 5-10gb hard drive would be killer! I'd imagine that it'd be firewire based, have a tv-out connector, and perhaps it'll also act as a hard drive like the ipod.

This would be cool for a teleconferencing iApp. You might see some sort of apple branded web cam just to make the issue more plug and play.

Also, they could merely make this a lens and microphone attachment for an existing iPod, perhaps one that could also stand on its on as a firewire webcam.

I would love a stereo mic that could record to the iPod, as AIFF, or as MP3 encoded on the fly. Just stick it in the firewire plug, and hope the chips inside the pod can encode as well as they decode.

What a revolutionary advance that would be.....

Dongmin, i think you're hoping for too much. At this rate you're only going to be dissappointed. There's no way apple are going to revamp their entire line within a couple of months. A new enclosure, DDR and faster G4, and *maybe* one surprise, but no more.

Yeah, I'm maybe being a bit too optimistic. But we KNOW some sort of new tower is coming out. I actually don't care much about a case redesign as long as the internals are vamped. I'm thinking that they'll incorporate some of the design elements of the Xserve into the new tower.

The LCD thing could be just a price reduction.

The iMac revision I think NEEDS to happen. At minimum, we need at least a price reduction in time for the education buying season. I've read reports that iMac sales have tapered off. The iMacs came out in Jan. So it'll be six months; a revision is due.

OK, the iPod 2 thing may be just a pipedream...

I think it will be real. That would be the apple PDA (sorry to all who are sick of this idea). I dont think there will be an iWalk. An iPod 2 would have a 5-20 Gb HD and could both store dates and address, and play games that only need like 640x480. It could possibly have a fold out screen. I dont know. I'm only 14. Oh well. Anyway, it would have the ability to run some tyoe of OSX, and could Actually Play Music!!! No PDA can do that! It would be revolutionary, like everything from Apple. :)

I'm sorry but a 1.4ghz with DDR is very exciting. One being that Apple has never jumped 400mhz in one bump AFAIK and we need DDR as well as a bigger bus.

My dual gig is ready for eBay but I think I will end up waiting till MWSF. I'd love to be surprised that would explain why every product has been updated but the towers, the tower sales are in the dump and Apple has rocked on all other upgrades. So maybe, just maybe I'll be surprised. If so, you can catch my dual gig on eBay:)

that'd be just great (note the sarcasm). then you could carry the camera, plug it into the Ipod to automatically download the pics and carry on.

I on the other hand will be stuck with a USB Olympus I just purchased that I'd have to carry the Ibook around w/me.

think of the inconvenience

Umm, let me see... Which PDA's play music... The Sony Clie N710c, N770c, NR70, or any of the clie series with the audio adaptor; the HP iPaq, the Toshiba egenio 300-700 series, and practically every other pocketpeecee handheld out there...;)

What I meant was a camera that CONTAINED the same type of harddrive as the ipod. That would be cool in my opinion. It could be like that new panasonic DV camera that uses SD cards to store its movies in MPEG4 format. I remember it being able to store 30min worth on a 64meg card and it was the size of a deck of cards. Wouldn't it be cool if apple's camera supported video capture and high res pictures and stored it in quicktime 6 format on a 5-10gig hd? Knowing apple, they'd charge $1500+ for it, but it'll at least look great :).

that would be awesome....(the sarcasm was misplaced, I would be upset if apple came out w/something better after I had just bought my camera)
though I still think linking it to an Ipod would be awesome too
