Any way to have one thunderbolt or hdmi port, to split to multiple displays.
Something like Matrox Dualhead2Go.

I have a few screens with a low resolution, like 1024x576 which I’d like to hookup to one thunderbolt connector.
So I’d have one 2048x1152 or 4096x576 display hooked up, but it actually consists out of 4x 1024x576?

It would be such a waste to have one thunderbolt port only drive 1024x576…
I’m not looking for displaylink solutions.

//nevermind, amazon showed some results already.

What solutions did you find on amazon?

Why is the Matrox Dualhead2Go not sufficient? Because it only outputs to two displays?

They have a Quadhead2Go which should allow your 2048x1152 or 4096x576 modes. They mention an 8Kx8K option but don't give any details.

Would be nice to find something modern that can accept DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC input and output up to 8K or more.

One Thunderbolt port can connect two displays using a Thunderbolt hub or dock or adapter (as long as it's not an M1 or M2 Mac).

Windows or Linux can connect multiple displays to an MST hub but macOS does not support MST for multiple displays.

I too am interested in what you found on Amazon. Some macs don’t deal well with multiple displaylink adapters and allowing to just stretch a single 4k ish display across multiple monitors would me amazing.

What I apparently need is a HDMI splicer.
These are normally used to create a videowall consisting out of several displays.
1 hdmi in, 4 hdmi out or more depending on the model. You can arrange them in 2x2, 1x3, 4x1 etc.
I'm not sure it will output a 4k input into 4 1080p screens, or downsamples the 4k to 1080p and then distributes the image. The price range is large, I bought a 'cheap' $200 one, which fits my needs. (hopefully)

Is there a specific reason you’re trying to bridge multiple monitors instead of using a single new monitor of a more appropriate resolution?

For essentially the price of a decent multi-head bridge you can replace your low-res monitors with something better. Unless you need this configuration for a special purpose…?

Purely entertainment, I have a few old 6" crt's I'd like to connect.
I'm using Ultrafine 5K's for the necessary things.

The Matrox QuadHead2Go that’s already been mentioned does exactly that. It’s not cheap though.
I already found a solution, thanks.

Still waiting for it to arrive, it's a 'noname', "Video Wall Controller, 4K 60Hz TV Video Wall Controller Screen Stitch Processor Splicer"
