I personally use Spark for both of my personal emails and work-related emails.

But I'm curious do MacRumors forums members use one email app for personal & work (like me)

OR

Do you guys separate personal & work using 2 different email apps?

One app. I used Apple Mail for personal and work accounts, and now using MailMate.

No concerns about cross-posting stuff or getting things confused for me by using one program for both. Plus. other than browsing, I don't want to use multiple programs for things if I can avoid it.

I was liking Spark, then I found out today that there is no capability to see all the headers in an email. Darn, I liked Spark. Had to go back to Postbox.

There is a setting in some email clients so you can define certain domains that will automatically use a defined email address. eg "placeofbusiness.com" will use your "user@placeofbusiness.com" address. Others will warn you, like Postbox: https://support.postbox-inc.com/hc/en-us/articles/204344204-Domain-Fencing.

I do enjoy using Spark too, but personally I'm always bothered by the fact that Spark (Readdle) stores my account credentials. However, they're the best email app I can find for the Mac that has a built-in "Undo Send" feature. MacOS' Mail App doesn't have this and that was the dealbreaker for me.

I really wish MacOS Mail App had an undo send feature.

Personally, I've never found an email app for Mac that I don't hate.

I use webmail in Safari for all my accounts. I use Outlook for everything on my iPhone and iPad.

Which means you have to log in and out all the time per account?
Nah, I keep them all logged in continuously. I seldom find myself logging out or being forced to log back in. Google's got a great account switcher and handles multiple logins pretty gracefully. Most of my accounts are vanilla Gmail or Google Workspace.

My day job uses Outlook / Office365; not sure if Microsoft handles multiple logins as well as Google does. But I do know I prefer Outlook in a browser over the Mac or Windows apps.

My issue with apps is just that every single one I've ever seen does at least one of two things: hog my RAM and/or hog my storage. My browser does a fine job hogging RAM on its own; it doesn't need an email app to help. And all of my email is stored in the cloud where it belongs; I don't need or want a locally downloaded copy.

So you're a goldmine for Google in terms of collecting data. Never had the intention of deGoogling?

I use one email client for both my personal and work emails -- for the convenience. They are consolidated through the Apple Mail app so I have access to both at my fingertips. The email addresses are kept separate within the client though.

I am considering moving my personal account to iCloud now that you can set up a custom domain with it. But for most of my accounts, they're Google Workspace accounts paid for by various different employers. There are few if any viable alternatives for their use cases.

Plus, I've not seen anything that can beat the Gmail web interface. I'm not a big Google fan — especially in terms of data mining — but for business accounts, you just can't beat the power of Gmail searching and labeling. I'm happy to be proven wrong and switch to a better alternative, but that hasn't happened in the last decade plus I've been using Google Apps / Google Workspace / Gmail. As much as I like the idea of cutting off the data mine in theory, I also have to balance utility and ease-of-use for myself and my clients. Not being part of their dataset offers me no comfort if my clients and I are unable to complete or are significantly hindered from completing business processes and functions.

I see, makes sense. Thanks for your elaborate reply.

Not necessarily. If it's Google/Gmail, you can be signed into multiple accounts in the same browser and it lets you switch between them pretty easily. And if you're working with web mail from different providers (say, Gmail and Outlook), you just log into them in separate tabs like normal.
