So, on my iPad (running 17.6.1), in both Numbers and Pages (and the Files app), I can no longer access my files and folders in iCloud.

However, I have no problems with my iPhone or my iMac. This is only on the iPad.

Now, on my iPad, going to Settings/(My Name at the top)/iCloud/Manage Account Storage/Pages (and also Numbers), I get this:

Encrypted folders? Which contain:

Encrypted files?

To stress, this is only on my iPad, not my iPhone or iMac (on the website). Only my iPad. My iPad is no longer syncing these folders and files to iCloud. I cannot access any of them on the iPad. And only on the iPad. Which is a pain in the posterior, because I do most of my work on the iPad.

And here is the Files app, which has been stuck trying to sync these mysteriously encrypted entities for a few days now.

So what’s going on with all this “encrypted folders and files” nonsense? Really weird. Suggestions - and of course solutions - welcome.

Strange, are the iPhone and Mac updated to? Could there be some compability issues?
What about backup, does that work?
My iPhone and iMac are both working perfectly with iCloud. The iPad backs up to my iMac fine, but not to iCloud because nothing will upload from the iPad to iCloud. Compatibility issues? The iPad is up-to-date and the problem is with Pages and Numbers which are native Apple apps.

Yea, but not only pages and numbers, if you can't do a device backup to the cloud I would guess there's something wrong with your icloud connectivity on the iPad.
What error message to you get when trying to do a backup to the cloud?
Have you tried signing out and in again?
If you ad a file (use a random file, non number or pages) from a desktop or iphone, does it download to the ipad?

Downloads from iCloud are fine. But nothing uploads to iCloud from the iPad.

I’ve tried signing out and in again to no effect.

My iPad is not set to back up to iCloud due to the iCloud free storage limit of 5GB. I only back up my iPhone to iCloud and that works fine. I back up my iPad to my iMac which also works fine.

Still no fix on the iPad not uploading to iCloud.

Give Apple support a buzz and the might help you troubleshoot it and give better advice.
I would get some additional storage space in iCloud for a month or two and test to backup just to see if it works. Might not solve the issue but then you at least know that connectivity with iCloud isn't completely broken and since backup do "upload" things.

But your best and quickest bet is prob apple support.

I came on here after having 2-weeks’ of Apple Support failing to find a fix. They are still unable to fix it.

Do you guys think resetting the iPad to factory conditions will fix the iPad-upload-to-iClown issue?

Or what about restoring the iPad from a backup made before this problem occurred?
