WE DON'T HELP BY PUSHING THE THREAD BACK UP TO THE TOP....

That being said... PLEASE MAKE A STICKY (OR INSTANTLY BAN ANYBODY THAT STARTS A THREAD WITH THE WORDS "one" and "speaker" in it!)

Aww everybody's so grouchy. Don't scare the noobs away! These threads are by far the most entertaining. The only ones that get me to LOL actually. You'll notice that the OP always disappears after the flaming starts.

I love it. Keep em comin!

So bumping this to the top doesn't help but a sticky would?

Yeah, it would actually. And the remark about pushing this to the top not helping is wrong for the exact same reason. If they see something related to what they're coming to post about at the top of the list, my guess is that they're gonna read before starting another thread.

For the complete jackals that come in clicking the "New Thread" button without seeing the stickies, I've got nothing. May the Gods and Demi-Gods of MR have mercy on their souls.

While we're on the topic of stickies, can we do something along this line:

There - Referring to a location. (While I was there, the geniuses treated me how I expect to be treated at a retail location.)

They're - Contraction of "they are". (Ince I get to apple and show them how jacked my 3G is, they're going to give me a replacement.)

Their - Referring to ownership. (If they don't give me a replacement, I'll take their rich pompous aces to court!)

Disclaimer: I don't actually own a 3G and I would never even think of a lawsuit for something as trivial as a phone. Flamewhores, move along.

My thought exactly, haha. These threads shouldn't even exist, I am almost positive that there is a description on Apple's website that shows one as a speaker, and the other as a microphone.

But is there people on Apple's web site that answer your questions within minutes?

People come here first for a reason.

Policy from here on should be to send the OP to the nearest Apple Store for a trade in :D
(For those of you with NO sense of humor, please just laugh at the notion of sending someone through the trouble of getting an appt. at the Genius Bar only to find out there is only one speaker!)

Agreed, if someone is so dumb as to not search a forum before posting to see if this question has been asked and answered before, they deserve to go to the Apple Store and be made to look like an idiot. Also, who doesn't at least flip over the user's guide, much less read it when they get something like an iPhone?

TWO of these going at the same time!? Oh this is priceless. We're making MR history here people! Be proud you're a part of it!

You don't even need to use the search...there's a freakin' thing at the top of the forum that says "READ THIS BEFORE YOU POST" for the FAQ's. What do you know, the very first FAQ in that list mentions only having 1 speaker.

Now that you mention it, the FAQ should include the infamous "What's this new status icon that looks like a phone with buttons underneath?" (TTY mode)

I don't. I never even cracked it open. I can't remember the last time I read any kind of manual. NTTAWWT. ;)

But I also never started one of these threads, so don't confuse those of us who never RTFM with those who start these type of threads. :D

Funny story about that. While I was at the Apple store waiting for my genius bar appt, my girlfriend was looking at the 3Gs on display. Apparently somebody had turned on the TTY mode on one of the phones and she asked the nearest genius what it was cuz she'd never seen it on her phone. The genius had NO clue what it was. She told me about the mystery icon and I immediately knew what it was. Guess these geniuses aren't passing tests to work at the Apple stores...

Holy over-used acronyms Batman!

Very nice, now what did he mean? I translated RTFM (read the f****** manual) but the other one that was like 8 letters long went right over my head
NTTAWWT=not that there's anything wrong with that. Sorry, I reference Seinfeld a little too often, probably.

And I'm a she, BTW--oops, there I go again. :p
