MR has turned into how do i get this chick rumors lately

I'd noticed that as well? Ah the irony, asking computer geeks for help with women.

My advice is to go out on a limb and do what you think is right, it's the only way you're going to learn. Otherwise you're going to have the option of blaming other people if it all goes wrong and that's never good.

Ask her before things get ugly. This happened to me. It's better to ask her out than to become her own personal bank account...........there's nothing worse than giving away your iPod speaker or tons of unwanted songs in your iTunes library or..........OK, this is clearly a long story for another day.

Confidence and courage are the key. Just build up enough of it to ask her out. If she says no, who cares? You'll float on. If she says yes, then all the better! Staying in a state of wonder and fear won't get you anywhere.

And, if you're really bored, I can tell you my story.

Yeah...everybody knew I liked her, including her, and everyone knew I didn't have the courage to ask her out. Whether she genuinely liked me or just spent time around me because I'm the "rich" kid (I'm rich by Oakland standards, btw) and that I'd buy/give her stuff is beyond me.

What's even sadder is that everyone thinks I still like her, including her, and I really miss our original friendship because we've known each other since we were 4, but she won't allow us to be friends again, and we're parting schools next year, so it bothers me that I burned a bridge.

That stinks. I generally don't bother with relationships with close friends - always ends bad, or just plain awkward.

As far as the money thing, relationships drain lots of it. I try to watch my spending on females, even if I have it to spend. Thankfully, my girlfriend hardly expects me to buy her anything expensive. She's happy with thinks akin to hand bags from a thrift stores, or a hot coco every once in a while. :)
