No. It CANNOT. I see no reason that this screen would be seen as larger on this mockup at all.
It does not look larger at all, anyway.
maybe the screen is the same size and they just hrunk the rest of the phone down to make the screen relatively larger lol
1. this concept has already been posted, even though it does look nice the "old" 3g is probably closer to the real thing.
2. the concept doesn't necessarily have a different screen/bezel, since the screen is off you can't really tell what's going on, can you?

5. there's a lot of studying ergonomics and such behind Apple's design choices, it really is perfect, no need to change that.

Wouldn't say no. Looks like a mashup between iPhone EDGE and iPhone 3G. Nice concept. Going to be interesting to see what is unleashed at WWDC.

No, I didn't even think about that pun until you mentioned it
Anyways, the only way I want Apple making the iDevice smaller is thickness, not size of the screen. And besides, it's thin enough and large enough as is.
but 1st and 2nd gens have near identical screens dont they..Is the real differences the backs and slight modified headphone port (iin the 3g)
Notice the shape of it? It's equal thickness throughout just like 1st gen, not tapered at the ends like 2nd gen.
I think it looks sleek. I wouldn't mind more screen and less bezel.
