Does it run some custom OS, or what?

I wonder how it sounds in their when the processors are working at full speed...

What computer would be fast enough for you then? ;) :D
I was just thinking of the mainframes and minicomputers that I worked on in the 70's from IBM, Univac, DEC and Honeywell.

Now twenty-thirty years later I look at the iMac on my desk and have to smile.

This new wonderful breakthrough capability may be on our desktops in less than 20 years. Awesome.

I know, it may seem hard to believe, but the power of this supercomputer will no doubt one day reside in our personal computers. :)

dmw007, should we make a wager on how long it will take? ;)

One thing nice about the old mainframes vice the PC or Mac, is that you could actually walk through it and get a firm understanding of what each part did.

While you can crack open a PC box and discuss, it just isn't the same as walking though the CPU, RAM (Core) memory, etc.

Well sushi, I heard a rumor that Apple was releasing a tower with this sort of power next tuesday... ;)

That is kind of nice to be able to see what everything does, but most people don't have room for one of them in their office or bedroom. ;) :)

No, I suppose not. But it is cool to be able to check out all of the components of a computer (I love the inside of my Power Mac G5). :)

PM G5's are very nice inside.

Apple has always focused on the inside as well as the outside. The early Macs had signatures of the team on the inside. Pretty darn cool to see.

I want my eyes to be able to see an entire porn before my brain completely comprehends what it just saw and gets sexually aroused.

It makes porn-watching faster, and therefore, more low-risk as a workplace hobby.

I, personally, can see no better possible use for a computer.

That would be cool if they still did that. :)

Does anyone know any good cases for a Petaflopper? I tried sticking it in the garage, but I had to leave the garage-flap open and it sticks out into the driveway... I'd hate to see it scratched..

Sadly, you need at least a 2 car garage in order to fit this computer inside. ;) :D
