First time owner of Quapaw. What top ten apps make owning the iPads worth it?
I'm not sure about the Quapaw reference, but as to the rest of the question:
MRGoogle is a great resource for such questions: http://mroogle.*************/
I mention it because this question comes up frequently and there's a lot of answers already posted; this gets you the info more quickly than waiting for people to answer the question again.
Top 10 iPad Utility Apps?
Just got a iPad what apps you recommend?
Regular Google search is a great resource too: http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=top+ten+ipad+apps
There's also a subforum specific to ipad apps that's a good place to look too: http://forums.macrumors.com/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Also websites like appshopper.com and others.
When I first got my iPad I found such a mind boggling array of apps, that I simply took my time and read about them. Once I found what would work for the way I used my device I then put a few on it. Out of the box there is so many good things you can do , your surely not going to be bored.

It all depends on why you bought it and what your intended purpose is.
For me, I find that goodreader, is one app that would be on my top ten list, but that doesn't mean it will be useful to you. Browse these forums, and see what others post and browse the app store to see what you tickles your fancy.
