All the 9 people that use this “feature” have the 17 Pro max with 2TB which is why no one talks about it

I had wondered this but checking the supported models on Apple's special photos/video page doesn't list the iPhone Air as a supported model, the reason being it had a single camera.

Now I know not many people have Vision Pros. But this may change in the future, or there may be alternative ways to view spacial imagery. And if you get a phone with a single camera you're shut out of that.

Just another feature missing from the iPhone Air

Who cares about spatial photos other than the handful of AVP guinea pigs?

The photos app on my iPhone has been able to turn photos from the 1950s into spatial photos using computational tricks. Open any photo with obvious foreground and background and hit the “Spatial Scene” button. Sometimes it’s amazingly good, sometimes it’s a little weird.

I am betting they use the same logic that allows you to remove unwanted items from an image to generate what’s behind a foreground item.

Sometimes gimmicky and sometimes way frigging cool.

In the attached screen capture video I am tilting my phone back and forth and then up and down.

I think the OP secretly wants the Air sooooo bad……he’s posting all these threads to make him/herself better about not having one.

Treat yourself…….live a little. 🎉🎉🎉

You can view spatial photos in 3D stereo without a Apple Vision Pro.
You can extract the left/right image pairs from a spatial photo using the iOS Spatialify app, or Preview app on Mac, or Imagemagick on Mac, Windows, or Linux. You can view the images in 3D in a number of ways: side by side, crosseye, anaglyph red/blue glasses, VR viewers like Google cardboard, "wiggle" animated gifs and videos, etc.
