One USB port not working on PowerBook G4

The USB port on the left-hand side of my PowerBook G4 does not work. The one on the right-hand side does work. Other than getting a USB port hub what troubleshooting techniques would you suggest to get it working again?

Is the USB showing up in the system profile?

If it's not showing up there, I'm not sure there's anything you can do to "revive" it.
