I have a 6s Plus and would like to look into note taking on it with a stylus in OneNote. I have found a lot of info about how great it works on an iPad, especially the iPad Pro, but nothing on the iPhone. Does anyone know if the OneNote app on the iPhone would support stylus input like it does on an iPad?

Pencil only works with iPad, unfortunately. Only the iPad Pros have the special sensors in the screen that can detect the pencil.

I know, I wasn't talked my about the Apple Pencil... 3rd party.

You guys know that there was a rumor going around that the pencil WOULD work with the 7 (not sure 7 or 7+) coz Tim Cook made a statement and mentioned iPad and iPhone in same statement with pencil...

I've not seen that anyone has actually TRIED to use the pencil with both models...I totally understand the special sensors and other things with the newer iPads so that the pencil only works with them, but, maybe we need someone to try this?

As far as I can tell, the AP won't pair with a 7 Plus. Just unpaired it from from my Pro and tried to see if it would show up on the Plus, and it doesn't. Back to the Pro, and it shows right up, so, it won't even pair, never mind 'work'.

Be great if it would... if anyone has suggestions, let me know, but I don't see it working.

Let me reframe my question, because we seem to have drifted off because I used pencil in my question.

Two things I'm trying find out...
- Will OneNote on an iPhone plus work with a 3rd party stylus for taking notes?
- Is there a 3rd party stylus that works particularly well with this?
