Online order, instore pickup and return?

Sorry if this is already answered somewhere...

I place an online order for my iP5S and picked it up in-store. Let's say store location X.

Can I return this phone to any Apple Retail Store or I have to do it online or in the same Apple Store where I picked it up?

You may return it to any Apple retail store. I ordered one online via in-store pickup and I returned it today with no issue.

Just wanted to make sure because the chat rep told me that you have to return to the same store which I did not believe at all.

then I called the store where I wanted to return the phone and the person confirmed that I can return the phone there (or anywhere)
