I woke just before 3 AM here on the east coast to order an iPhone 5S for my wife. (We take turns ... this was the year she gets the new phone.)

At 2:59 I checked the Apple Store app on my iPad - it had been offline just a moment before - and it was up and running. I chose the 32G gold AT&T phone and very quickly sailed through the verification process - unlike in years past when that was a bottleneck.

To make a long story short, my confirmation email has a time of 3:03 AM. Shipping is shown as 1-3 business days with an expected delivery of Sept. 30 - October 2 (standard shipping).

For those of you who ordered online ... what was your experience like? Did you have any slow server issues ... especially at verification?

My experience was basically identical to yours. No issues whatsoever.

I made sure my credit card was set up with Apple yesterday.

At 3:05am I got right through to Apple.com and was done with express checkout in less than 90 seconds. 1-3 days till ship with an email to confirm!

Pretty much the same here. Woke up a little before 3AM. 3:01AM ordered my phone and had my confirmation with 1-3 days by 3:03. All done with Apple Store App on my 4S.

I used the Apple Store app at about 1:30am Pacific to order and, for some odd reason, they listed my one bank card as my main purchase card. I've no idea why, because it was one I only used once, a few years ago for a brief period for iTunes purchases, it was never used to order a phone or anything.

And I have my Mastercard on there now to use for purchases and it's been on there for the past 2 or 3 years….so, I had to go in and change that, before I could complete my order.

But, once I did, I had no issues. Was pretty speedy and same shipping time as in the OP.

No issues server or stock wise from ordering online through Verizon. They had units to ship by the 24th for the first 4-5 hours.

I got in at pretty much 12:01 AM on the dot here in the UK, whacked a gold 16GB 5s into my cart and whizzed through checkout in seconds. Got my confirmation email saying I can expect my phone to be delivered between 7th and 10th of October. Which seems to be an unacceptably long delivery period seeing as they should already have the stock and I'm in the first batch. Will it really take this long or will it likely come earlier?

Set an alarm to wake up at 2:50am EST. Used the app store on my phone when it opened at 3am, and sailed through with no issues. When I clicked buy, the shipping was at 1-3 days, but by the time I added a lightning converter to the cart and checked out a min later, shipping was 7-10 days. But I'll take it! 32GB Gold phone on the way!

I also called customer service this morning and switched to expedited shipping. They changed it for me at no cost!

Exact same as yours. I apparently clicked a minute too early and received a 'We are working on it' message. I refreshed and got right in. Page refreshes were nearly instant. Connection to AT&T server to verify account, upgrade pricing and unlimited data took about 30 seconds.

    Delivery expected 30 Sep - 2 Oct.

The only annoyance was with AT&T not allowing me to change the shipping address. It has to be shipped to my billing address ( home ). I would have preferred it delivered to my office.

My experience was just what I was expected, got up, checked the forums till the site was up and went through the process and got what I wanted.

The question though is how long until I actually have the phone in hand.

Ordered a 16 GB space gray and a 16 GB gold from T-Mobile.

2 separate, completed orders by 2:02 CT.

Already got shipping notification and they will be here Monday.

I couldn't be more pleased with how smooth it went.

Basically the same as everyone else here. I initially tried using the Apple Store app on my phone but it wouldn't allow me to get pass the password section when verifying with Verizon (After speaking on the phone with them, I now realize my mistake) so I went to the Verizon website and sailed through the process in about 2-3 minutes. Got a ship date of "by 9/24" for a 32GB Gold. We shall see if that holds true but I hope that it does.

Same experience on the Verizon site. Just sailed through the ordering at 3am and got an "expected to ship 9/24" email. Almost seems TOO easy IMO. So wondering when I will really get it, lol. I notice now though that the shipping dates for the gold 32gb on the Verizon site have slipped to Nov. 4th.

I was worried about this so I made a point to order my accessories on a different order after my 5S order went though.
