Setting up a salon site and my main concern right now is that they requested to have an online scheduling system to book appointments and view availability while taking an initial deposit for the appointment. This would be my first set up like this and would like to tackle it myself. Just looking for any good advice or setups to use for this. Best things to be aware of or get familiar with. If you're going to create it from scratch I recommend PHP + MySQL + JavaScript. Shouldn't be too hard depending on your requirements.
