My upgrade is tomorrow. I'm leaving on vacation on 7/2. I tried to get them to upgrade me to just 2 days early so that I could get in. ( I live quite a ways from the city and didn't think I would have time to get in).

Anyway they would not budge even 2 days early and I call everyone and their mother. They said it was their contract with :apple:. So no they will not upgrade you unfortunately.

I'm sorry and feel your pain. I'm having a hard time now just waiting till tomorrow. Luckily all my :apple: stores have them in stock.

Go to an at&t corp store. I walked in, had them ask a manager and I was allowed to upgrade 1 month in advance.
Calling at&t will not help, they will not change the date or override for you.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the earliest people could buy the 3G was 11 1/2 months ago. They wouldn't even be eligible for an upgrade until December at the earliest.
You are wrong! Consider yourself corrected. Many customers that purchased on July 11, 2008 are eligible as of July 11, 2009. Yes, that is only 12 months but these customers spend way too much money with AT&T so they get some perks.

Only June 17, AT&T announced that they have listened to their customers and were going to allow "Early Adopters of the iPhone 3G" that were alread eligible for an upgrade in July / Aug / Sept 2009 to upgrade begining June 19, 2009. :D

And this was for the iphone 3GS?

Seriously, does no one remember that AT&T changed it so that anyone who was eligible between now and September could have an early upgrade for the iPhone 3GS?

I am so tired of seeing this misinformation being spread around. Go read it for yourself, it says existing 3g customers who are eligible through September.
