I bought an iPhone 11 Pro on launch day. But recently I've been wanting to try the iPhone 11 Pro Max so I bought one and fell in love.

What do I do with my iPhone 11 Pro? I'm only getting ~$400 trying to sell it to those online buying companies

Depending on your geographical location, you have various opportunities: ebay, swappa, craigslist,...

I'm guessing trading it in wasn't an option. Try swappa.com, I use them all the time, or list it for sale locally via social media for example.

List it here on MacRumors Forums--in the marketplace. If it's a 64GB model, you probably paid $999, right? I would expect someone here would pay $800, which is twice what you were quoted.

That seems crazy low where are you
Seeing that price

I’d try craigslist , assuming it’s a base unlocked id guess you can get close to double that

How long ago did you buy the new phone, and where? If it's returnable, consider returning it. Then take the old phone to Apple and trade it in to Apple. In many cases the prices are fairly close to market, and there's zero risk (if you trade it in at the store) and zero waiting time.

Take a look at Mac Me an Offer. They will offer you $685 and pay for shipping. They are a great company and I have sold several phones to them in the past.

Don't sell to online companies, they will give you scrap value. Unless there are obvious signs of damage you can easily get much more than $400 on eBay, Craiglist, Gumtree, Carousell etc.

If I were you I would keep the 11 Pro until the new models come out and then get a Pro Max. It's not worth the hassle for an extra 0.7" of screen and 1.5 extra hour of battery life.

OP wrote he got it on launch day. Even if the Apple Store staff can be flexible, it's very likely too late now.

Apple doesn't quote trade-in values for iPhone 11 Pro. They only quote for prior generations.

This guy again...

You posted this exact same issue back in April. As many people have said, if you are in the U.S., the best places to sell are the MR forums and Swappa. Don't know what else you are looking for. Worried about Swappa or another site where buyer will scam you? Trade it in on one of those other sites for much less and be done with it, and suck up your loss.

Should have thought about selling options prior to buying the Pro Max.

I just sold my girlfriend's regular 11 64gb on Swappa for $675. All things considered, not bad at all.

I'm just not getting a lot of money anywhere and ive heard ebay is a risk

You're going to get a lot more money selling it yourself though a service like eBay. If it's a "buy it now" sale you can adjust the listing not to close unless an immediate payment has been made, and you can also set buyer restrictions to filter out people who have a low feedback score, or haven't paid for items in the past. The problem you may run into is if you're a new eBay member with no feedback people may not trust buying the phone from you.

Forget selling and taking a huge loss, just keep it until Sept. and trade it in. You paid a lot for that phone you might as well make the best of it.

You could always try Facebook marketplace or Gumtree. Not that I know much but I’d guess around £700 for a used but sort of new iPhone 11 Pro would be reasonable.

I second selling it in the Marketplace here, locally, or on Swappa. I tend to stay away from eBay as a seller whenever possible. In addition to getting eaten alive with the eBay and PayPal fees, eBay also pretty much always sides with the buyer in any dispute, which makes it way too easy to get scammed. Definitely don't sell it to one of those trade-in sites.

Assuming it is in good condition, I agree with others that you should be able to get around $800 for it. If you are looking for a quick sale, putting it on Craigslist for $700 should move it pretty quickly I would think.

I just got $400 trading in my X for a new 11 for one of my kids at the Apple store, I’d think your 11pro is worth more than that.

Donate it to someone in need.

Rather you’re being facetious or not, you can actually send your used cell phones to carriers, which they have specific programs that they actually refurbish phones and issue/sell at a low cost to those who cannot afford the higher retail prices. My carrier does this and and it can be any phone as long as it’s in good working condition.
