Apple TV app “Up Next” feature not working on ATV 4K

I have 2 ATV HDs and 1 4K model. I have noticed since the latest update that the up next feature for the Apple TV app on the “shelf” no longer works.

any one else notice this?

Mine's there, but it has some sort of crisis about identifying correctly what season and episode is what, such as my most recent annoyance, The Incredible Hulk skipping the pilot and the second episode two-parter so I'm relegated to using the less useful TV Shows app (which can't auto-queue the next episode without me being next to the remote).

Another one is incorrectly calling the last half of Season 4 of Saved by the Bell Season 5.

you're talking about the Home Screen "top shelf" for apps in the top row
I've been missing this for a while also

I just discovered yesterday they added an option, and made the default different from the old way

go into the main settings app, then...
Apps -> TV -> Top Shelf

I switched it from Shows to Watch to Up Next but still same bug regarding the pilot of Incredible Hulk. It doesn't have this bug with the pilots of Babylon 5, Farscape, Deep Space Nine, or any other show except that one. I hate using TV Shows app because it can't auto play next episode. There's still two more episodes until I can leave the app because TV app assumes episode 4 is episode one.

as has been discussed in the many threads you have brought it up in, the hulk issue is not an issue with up next.

it's an issue in the way that that particular show is organized.
Up next is showing it to you exactly as it's being told to show it to you.

the issue is not with up next
it is not a "bug with up next"

The TV app is assuming nothing.

you're assuming that the people who entered the data for the show feel the same way you do as to how the show is supposed to be organized.

The issue in this thread isn't a bug
it's a change in the way that a feature operates, and a new setting, that's not really advertised

It is a bug. The show is out of order. NO other show is doing that. NONE. Not Deep Space Nine, NOT Babylon 5, not even Captain Planet.

It's a bug when the app is doing behavior it's not supposed to do, such as mislabeling episode 1 of season one as episode 4 of season one. I have the broadcast order of M*A*S*H on DVD and it's not like that either. Even the pilot is correctly on disc one for season one. I'm sorry if you don't agree with the facts.

Many other threads? You mean the one I created a couple days ago? That's the only other one! The other threads involved device issues or SD/4K quality problems. Not episodes being misorganized by a buggy app with many other issues discussed here.

It's sad though. There was a time, ten years ago perhaps, when Apple products 'just worked'. What happened?
