I love how this thread, one that needed exactly one response, got over 20.

And technically, many of them are incorrect.

There are 2 speakers and 1 mic.
At the bottom of the phone there is one speaker on the side of the headphone jack. The other "speaker" at the bottom of the phone is a microphone on the side of the camera lens. The second speaker is located just above the lcd screen.

Yes it's a speaker but not in the sense that music and other audio is played through it when playing a game, using an app outside of the phone, etc...

Well if you want to get technical...he never specified "music playing speaker"...and neither did any of the others. :p

Deja vu! One of them is a speaker, the other is the microphone :D

OMG, OMG :mad::mad:... Ive only got one speaker working too!!!

I hope Apple fix this with a firmware update!!!!

I'm so glad I searched before posting about the 'one speaker working' problem I thought I'd discovered this morning...

...I would have been crucified!

WTF!!! Two pages on this thread???

I only have one camera on my phone? Wheres the front facing???
(couldnt resist :p)

I think that saying "there is only one speaker" again is like spamming, this thread, so I'm going to say this instead:

I like waffles. Mmmmmm.

Hey there,

I've got the original iPhone and I just recently noticed that if one of the speakers is covered no noise comes out. When the other speaker is covered it sounds fine. Is one of the speakers broken (which I think it is) and should I go get it replaced, mind you its one of the original iPhones

One might be a mic. But it could be a broken speaker. Have you opened the iPhone to look at it from the inside? If it's a mic, there will be a "This is the microphone" label. If not, it is a broken speaker.

And another thing....

I'm able to take pictures with my camera, but not video. I think there's something wrong with my iPhone. Should I take it back to the Apple Store?
