I think the sex number is skewed, face it - anyone on a family plan probably has the man of the house doing to ordering/buying and having the account in their name, etc.

I've always seen just as many women with iPhones as men.

Lol. I think we all know how skewed this "slice" of data is and to make it an article is rather misleading on CNN's part.

72% of the population of the United States is white. The article states that 67% of buyers are white. Furthermore, men have always been more of an early adopter when it comes to technology. Lastly, Apple has always positioned their products as premium. Of course people with more money will buy Apple—especially early adopters. They always have. This article seems like a whole lot of nothing.

Uh, since when is $75k/yr "rich?"

It is, by definition, "above average." (The average U.S. salary is about $50k.)

Totally fair to apply the word "rich" to that, then. You could obviously break it down more and give more levels, but if it's a simple yes/no, rich/not equation than anything over average clearly gets the 'rich' label.

Only RICH WHITE MEN buy iPhone 6's ??

You have intentionally distorted the article with your thread title.

It's pretty clearly saying that white men are early adopters, not that they are the only ones who will own the iPhone 6. They even mention that the numbers are similar to when the 5S was new and those numbers evened out over time.

In other words, the article says exactly what a lot of posters here are saying. But they think they disagree with the article because you've made it sound like it's saying something it's not.

^^ THIS ^^

I want to say it must have been a slow news day but maybe it's because what they consider "news" is actually "infotainment".

Yeah, if you look at where many Apple Stores are located, the surrounding incomes tend to be around $75k or so. In most cases .

"Above average" and "rich" aren't even close to the same thing. Most definitions have "middle class" going up to $250k in household income. No one anywhere defines $75k as rich.
