Looks like the A1013 gets replaced faster than I thought. :D

Buyer agreed to $69.99.

(Mods, not my auction!!!)

Nice, I need to get a 15" or 17" PowerBook one of these days. Are you planning to keep both?
Oh yes!

When I had both the A1013 and the A1139 functional I often carried both with me. The A1139 was for on the go design/business while the A1013 was personal.

Don't know exactly how I will split them up this time, but I've got plenty of spare parts for the A1013.

Just had to make sure it was functional first. The seller said it powered on, but never mentioned that it chimed or that the screen came on and got a blinking question mark. I asked and he confirmed and put that in the auction listing. So, I offered him $20 less for it and we settled in the middle.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I feel I should mention that I have a fondness for the A1013s because that was the absolute very first Apple Mac that ever made me want it. Not even the Quicksilver had that draw for me. And the A1013 was also my very, very first eBay auction win, so while I could replace with a later model with hi-def and DLSD and so on – I wanted the A1013.

I just couldn't resist. The extras are what I was interested in, the PB is a bonus.
I should start a poll for guessing the model...

That's a heck of a deal even if you were only getting the extras...I think you might even have the rare Tiger CD set in there(I have #1 of 4, and it looks exactly like the OSX CD set pictured on the top row).

I'd have probably paid $60 for the software+wireless mighty mouse+airport express.

I don't think the computer is an A1138, but hope I'm wrong on that.

I'm glad that you got another 17" Powerbook!

Even though I have the DLSD in 15" and 17", the earlier AlBooks have always had some appeal to me and I'd eventually like to pick up an example of each.

That's awesome! The Mac itself is worth the price but with all the extras you got a really good deal!

Yeah, me too! I really like the first model. Hopefully you can find a good one soon.

One thing I find completely ridiculous is seeing $500 early model AlBooks on eBay. These sellers just don't get it.

Of course, it's worth what you're willing to pay, but unless those Macs will do your shopping for you, iron and press your pants, take out the trash and pick up the mail I don't see it.

Macs could do your shopping on Amazon, Macs could iron your pants with their heatsinks, and pick up your mail on the internet:p

I had to.

Back on topic, looks good. At first I thought the picture was grabbed off google but then I took a look at the auction and saw they actually are real.

Yeah, it looks a bit Photoshopped in the first picture, but I think that's just because they wanted the background out of the pic. The rest look normal.

My main criteria was "Did it chime?" and "Did the screen turn on?" Originally, the seller only mentioned that it powered on. Which could mean anything.

I have the full 6 CD set and it is indistinguishable from the DVD - same black livery. The silver CD (I assume you mean that one to be the Tiger CD) looks interesting, though. Pity Apple's white Replacement DVDs look so cheap and shady. I have seen a few offered on eBay and they do look like burnt DVD-Rs.

Using a 17 inch 1.33GHz PBG4 as I type right now. They certainly are beautiful machines. Best of all is the keyboard. Very durable and comfortable to type on.

Enjoy your new PB. :)

Thanks! One of the reasons I love these Macs!

I'm just glad this Intel phase you were going through was just a phase. I almost got the tar and feathers out.

(as I type this from a core i5 mini)

LOL!

A momentary lapse. Back on track now. :D

So…uhm…yeah. The PowerBook is PERFECT!

Only one little issue and I don't care! Bright spot on the bottom of the screen but no biggie!

The keyboard and trackpad…awesome! The case, light scratches, NO DENTS, NO DINGS!

This Mac was opened rarely and came with a 80GB hard drive which I swapped out for the old 120GB. I put in my 2GB of ram and hey, guess what?!!!

My Mac no longer has an external cache failure!

I passed diagnostics and I have CACHE again!!!
