I was playing with an iPhone X at the shop today and couldn’t figure out how to open the app switcher while in the home screen. Is there a way?

Yes, but it didn’t appear to be working in home screen. Everywhere else yes, but not in home screen.

Are you perhaps referring to the lock screen? The gesture being mentioned works once the phone is unlocked. The home screen and the lock screen are two different things.

slide ur finger from bottom and mover it to the right if you want the app switcher to pop up faster.

if you have a lot of time and want a simple one swipe gesture, Slide ur fringer from bottom and hold it in the middle of the screen for about a second then your multiple opened apps should pop up for switching or closing

im assuming you meant lock screen because im sure it works everywhere else [home screen, in apps etc]... since when does multitasking work on a locked screen?

At first I couldn’t switch to my opened apps from the home menu either but after playing with it a bit I discovered that u are able to pull them up from the left bottom corner. Just place your finger at the very edge of the left hand corner and slide up.

I think all these guestures are dumb. There's already a small black bar at the bottom of the screen. Why not just turn it in to a circle and boom, you have your old home button.
