I Just bought macbook that appears to be in mint condition for $540 from Best Buy (open box). Came with all accessories. I’m nervous though because the AppleCare expired 48 days ago ( Best Buy assured me though that I get a year warranty through Best Buy). I am also nervous because it was a floor model which means it was used over a year on the floor since the AppleCare expired. Battery cycle is 9 (plugged in all the time) and condition is normal. Should I keep this or take back. Appears to be in good shape but nervous about people abusing it for a year on the floor. It was a base model 2017 open box

If everything is working okay and the machine doesn't seem like it has been abused (no scratches or dents) and the battery only has 9 cycles, I would keep it. The price you paid and the fact that BB is giving you a one year warranty is a pretty good deal in my opinion.

Ultimately though, it's really up to you. If you're uncomfortable with it, then return it for a refund.

My personal $.02 is that I would never get a floor model computer .They were the most abused and my uneducated opinion most likely to have a problem.

You seem to have some ill ease with the fact that the apple warranty expired and you should maybe listen to the little voice in your head. If you're uncomfortable, then don't force the issue. Return it and find another deal. B&H Video frequently has sales, and Apple will have a back to school promotion this summer, so there's no real rush, unless you absolutely need a machine today.
