I really do not understand this open CL stuff. I think I would do fine by buying the previous 20 inch 2.66 with the ATI 2600. I use my emac just for web surfing and to manage 100 GB of music. Seems what what I have read people have trouble choosing between the previous iMac and the current entry level 20 inch. My only concern would be if Snow Leopard will work on the previous model. As far as speed, my 3+ year old emac seems ok for me. Also, I think 999 is a good price for a new imac. Any thoughts?

Previous gen iMac will handle 10.6 well. OpenCL doesn't support ATI 2600 now but there can be an update and no-one knows how much OpenCL will boost your system.
