Open/edit pages-numbers files on microsoft office

I'm tired of having to convert the files I want to share with my family and friends to pdf , word because they cannot open them , I'm thinking of subscribing to ms office, the question is, is there no way to open my files while using office? Maybe a plugin, a convert tool... something...

Put the files in iCloud and share links to them. They can open them and edit them in a browser.
