I have my mp3 files auto-associated with iTunes, which is fairly standard fare.

However I have some mp3 files in a certain directory that should open in another app (in this case Quicktime). Any way to set this so that they open in QT without changing the global association of mp3 files in general? I'd prefer not to have to right-click and 'open with', which I am doing now.

Thanks.

Well, one somewhat painful approach is to select each, do Get Info (⌘-I), go down and alter the "Open With" for each, and close the Info Window.

From then on, those files will open with the other app.

Better than nothing, but not by much.
