Hi there,

how do I tell QuickTime X to open files in the same window, like VLC does?
I finally got rid of VLC because HD playback just sucks with is. QuickTime works with much less CPU usage but it's pretty annoying that it opens every video in a new window.

Is there a way to fix that problem?

I have had a look in the com.apple.QuickTimePlayerX there are a few defaults in there you can change such as disable rounded corners, start playing upon openening, always show control bar etc. but nothing about single window mode. I dont think this is possible.

I mainly use preview to short video clips within in finder.

How about trying the new mplayerx from the appstore?

Thanks for checking that. I'm hopeful for the lion revision then!

Will check mplayerx
