Okay...so I love my new mac pro...but can't figure something out. I've tried under view preferences and normal preferences of the finder menu to make the default opening of a window in row view. Everytime I double click a icon or something, it still opens up in icon view. Where do I permanentely set how I want all windows to open and behave?! I must have clicked the "all windows" button under preferences like a hundred times...

Finder is a bit buggy about this. Do you mean you want "list" view or "column" view? If you want column view, make sure that's checked in Finder Preferences --> General. Sometimes Finder forgets this preference for me, and resetting that preference and opening and closing several Finder windows will get it straightened out.

Also remember that you can use keyboard shortcuts (Command-1, 2, and 3) to quickly switch views.

Yes, it's a pain in the butt...sorry.

yeah...i meant list view, and yes I use those shortcuts because i've gotten so used to it being buggy...i just don't get why they can't fix it...
