Hi.

After Airdropping a PDF file from my iPhone to my iPad, it opens immediately on Books, instead of the app I use to read the PDF files, which is Files app. Is there a way to set the iPad to instantly open PDF files on Files app? Or, at least, to not open them directly. Or, at least, ask me in a dialogue like it used to be on iPadOS, something like: How would like to open this PDF file? -Files, -Books, -Other.

Thank you.

I just tried Airdropping a .pdf from my iPhone 13PM to my M1 iPad Pro 11, and I got this. I am sorry, but I don't know how to change the settings to make this happen. It just does this for me. The only Airdrop settings I can find are in Settings/General/Airdrop, and it only allows you to turn Airdrop on or off, or who you can receive from.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I am running iPad OS 16.2 Public Beta 3. Also, have you tried restarting your iPad?

I’m getting the same dialog as @bondr006 - even if I then select an app and open the file, then AirDrop another PDF it still asks. If you’re not up to date on iPadOS 16.1.1 try that, otherwise I guess a call to Apple support?
