open terminal + image on desktop

When my ibook's alarm went off this morning, i opened it up to deactivate it. On screen I saw a darwin terminal box up and an extra icon on the desktop(a pic of two dogs playing on the beach?)... a bit concerned my mac may have been compromised >.>

not that im aware of. No one else uses this laptop.

I dont know how to take screenshots. :/
I only use it for downloading and basic word processing. Dont really know how to do anything fancy with the machine.

command ( apple key ) + shift + 4 a cross hair will appear just drag that around what you want to take the screen shot off & release the keys or command + shift + 3 for full screen,screen shots,then just attach the screen shot to your to next post
