I've been thinking about this and I can't quite come to a solid conclusion, any help or advice would be appreciated:

A week ago: My gf and I both have 16gig iPhone 3Gs, she drops hers in some water and has to resort to her 1st gen iPhone. Our deal is I would buy the 3GS and she would give me $100 for my phone. (We talked to AT&T and Apple and even the 8 gig would cost her $279 because she just signed in for 2 years in January).

So I got my 16 gig white 3GS for $435 and she is giving me $100 for my phone and we are going to sell her water logged phone on eBay or Craigslist. (Side note I have been able to take the water logged phone from not turning on at all, to everything works but the sound, see macrumors tips/troubleshooting section)

However my grandma just bought a phone with At&T and could still return it and buy the 32 gig 3GS for $299 because she is starting a new contract. Is there a clean way to; return my phone, get grandma to buy the 32 gig for $299, I buy my grandma some little phone (like what she has) and then I would have gotten the 32 gig for the subsidized price? I'm just unsure of how the contract would work.

Sorry this is wordy but I though I'd just throw it out there...
