Open .XLS (or other format) from Quick Look

Hi!
I realized that If I download .xls file (for example) I and double click it - it open's in TextEdit. If I click Quick Look icon it does view the entire content of the file nicely...So my question is: How to make changes in a way that double click opens .xls file with Quick Look by default.

You can't, Quick Look isn't an application, so it cannot be set as the default application for opening files.

Quick Look is only for taking a "quick look" at a file 😉 It can't be used for editing, etc. Just continue using the existing Quick Look triggers (spacebar, or selecting from the right-click contextual menu).

If you want to change which application opens a file (ie Numbers, MS Excel, etc.), right-click the file in Finder and select "Get Info". From the info window, go to the "Open With" header and change as desired.
