Open95Keygen is a portable open source program that generates random valid Product Keys (both OEM and Retail types) for Microsoft's Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 operating systems.

The Windows 95/NT 4.0 OEM/Retail Product Key algorithms have been reverse engineered by many people. Open95Keygen is a clean room design implementation not based on any existing software, it is written based on the specifications of the algorithm which is inherently not copyright infringement. I was inspired to write Open95Keygen after watching the YouTuber stack smashing's video Why 111-1111111 is a valid Windows 95 key.

Probably quite an obscure tool these days but cool nonetheless :)
I seem to specialize in those. This was honestly just really fun to make, and because the mingw compiler still compiles targeting windows 95 I actually have ended up testing a lot of my software on windows 95. Also it’s really cool to see what you write work on classic Mac OS, now I have more then just one classic Mac OS app besides 21c.

Can you also test on NT 3.51? It can run some software targeted at 95 and I just love seeing "modern" stuff run under that prehistoric UI. :D
Interesting, supposedly Internet Explorer 4.0 can be installed on NT 3.x. That in theory provides the required .dll that allows programs to run that are compiled by the mingw compiler.

On a side note, I actually made a DOS 3.30 and newer build of 21c but that’s the oldest I’ve gone. Maybe I’ll release a DOS build of this as well.

I have successfully ported this to PSX! BIN+CUE files for US and Japanese PSX/PS1 consoles as well as source code are now available!
