Just like the end of the world could be around the corner. Tomorrow could be my last day on earth because the meteor hits. I’m not planning on that and I don’t think Apple should be planning on being knocked off the perchUntil something comes along that knocks Apple off its perch, you’re right. But it could be just around the corner. Apple should be innovating but has grown a little complacent. Yeah the sales figures are strong but how long can this last without new groundbreaking tech and ideation only?
I can’t find where I read it but apparently it was a leak from OpenAI.This would be cool!
I’ve had a pendant attachment for my Apple watch since the series two, it does kind of look like jewelry with the stainless model. Would be really useful to have a full AI assistant in there!
Then Apple needs to create the next great thing before someone else does.Just like the end of the world could be around the corner. Tomorrow could be my last day on earth because the meteor hits. I’m not planning on that and I don’t think Apple should be planning on being knocked off the perch
That’s not what Apple does. Apple is not trying to be first to market with anything. Apple perfects existing tech then releases them. If you want the newest tech, Apple is not the brand for you. Then Apple needs to create the next great thing before someone else does.
This. Anyone who doesn't get the benefits of AI by now really isn't paying attention.Imagine you're a contractor/electrician/plumber/other tradesperson. Here are some things AI could help you with:
I also personally think AI is going to make starting and running your own business significantly easier.
- Take a picture of a lighting/plumbing fixture/appliance to get the product manual
- Taking a picture of something malfunctioning to quickly identify broken parts/components
- Quickly identifying error codes and their meaning in plain English
- Code compliance checks to flag potential building code violations
- Faster and more accurate cost estimates
- Automatic generation of invoices / job reports; Drafting and sending payment reminders
- Answers to technical questions from apprentices/less experienced employees
- Chatbots to screen incoming requests; answer quick questions and schedule appointments without humans
- Improve scheduling jobs / optimizing route to customer sites
- Creating marketing content
- Drafting permit applications
Yep. Useful and enjoyable, but not The End of Days!So...machine learning and a slightly different interface with a few less clicks?
Also not worth massive energy consumption, the invasion of our devices, and multiple billion dollar valuations, either.Yep. Useful and enjoyable, but not The End of Days!
I doubt he designed that.If Ive's butterfly keyboard didn't disappoint you, you'll probably be very happy with what he designs for AI.
Funny because that’s exactly how they’re trying to sell AI nowYeah…the internet…the golden pathway to enlightenment and the next stage of human evolution or so it was sold to us back in the day.
He oversaw the design of the products that included the butterfly keyboard. Meaning even if he didn’t design them himself (which he might have) he approved their use despite the massive flaws that were revealed after only a few weeks in the public arenaI doubt he designed that.
It’s over for Apple. In 5-10 years they will be making modems like Nokia after it fell.
If you’ve seen movie “Her” you know that in the future you interact with your computer like you would have a real person assistant who’s doing all the stuff for you.
just look at Apple stocks. Almost 20% down in less than a year.
My guess is a fusion between: GPTARS without the walking + some sort of small, secondary screen, like a lightly larger rabbit R1 (to visually confirm it has understood what you said like in a McDonalds drive-thru) + perhaps a projectable keyboard/input method, probably really good at getting what you mean by studying your gestures.I get the idea, but it completely falls apart once you read the Wall Street Journal article where they say that it’s not wearable.
It’s a device that you can sit on your desk or in your pocket according to that article, so definitely not a pair of glasses, or a watch.
So Siri, only it is more chatty kinda like Google Gemini Live, but completly unprompted and interrupts you every chance it gets. What Steve was working towards was something along the lines of the Knowledge Navigator. I can't prove it but I'm sure this is what he had in mind when he acquired Siri
I really A. Don’t understand what people are missing in iOS that’s available in a pixel I have a pixel and an S25u(missing stuff isn’t AI it’s multitasking and how the gallery is handled). B. Doubt that anyone is making a purchase decision on this. It seems like this is all a market game where people are making a big deal to drop apples stock prices so they can buy low sell high. As it is if you want to use chatgpt you can do that on iOS/macOS as well if not better than you can on android.pretty dumb that last paragraph. They are ridiculously behind. Embarrassingly. And you should read up more on AI.
