I’ll say it before and I’ll say it again: there’s nothing that they can make that can’t be done by a current phone or in the very next generation after they launch their product.

The only way for this device to succeed is a marketing miracle, because there’s nothing that can’t be done by the damn thing we already carry around.

Do you want a phone and a doodad, or just your phone?
How about if the device is a smart Pen?

Something that sits in your pocket or can stay on a desk.

Just two posing in the mirror.

The valuation seems absurd, does the company even do anything or is it just solely for the Ive's name? I mean by all means great for him, but it's like he was given a blank cheque and Ive added the amount just for lols, but then actually received it. I love ChatGPT but Sam seems a bit nutty.

There isn't, the piece of paper was an amazing invention waaaay back yonder; then along comes the digital piece of paper, and believe it or not that digital piece of paper is a big effing deal! iPhone or iPad!

There's a wearable future, but you gotta have your OWN piece of digital paper with you at all time now-a-days or at least not too far away!

Good to know. Waiting to see the first product. Not sure how successful an AI only device with no screen will be.

...Looking at Jony Ive's latest videos on YouTube such as "A conversation with Jony Ive", I cannot help but think that there is something very unusual with the way he moves his hands, arms, and feet. Very jittery, fidgety, resting tremors (pill rolling) etc. He is either suffering from something such as Parkinson's disease or suffering from side effects from drugs/medication. Either way something is off by a mile regarding his demeanor.
Heavy RSI from prolonged use of Apple Magic Mouse?

But seriously, I think he might be a bit on the autism spectrum and is maybe also not in a comfortable situation (public speaking).

Or he's just a bundle of nerves aka social anxiety. Ironically a massive low comfy armchair is counter-productive to the aim of a "relaxed" chat here, when that chair is on a stage, in front of a live audience and cameras going out to millions on YouTube.

There's a reason he never presented on stage at Apple events, and only showed up on screen, cropped as the talking head video segment, talking about product design.

I can see why it looks odd but if it were PD-related dyskinesia, it would be very likely his speech would also be periodically affected and there's no indication of that in the Pat Collinson interview here.

Well, I'll never trust anything Altman has to say ever again. He just paid $7B more for Ive's POS company than it was worth. Ive is SO overrated: "forget a powerful device with great battery life, you want thinnuh and lightuh because Jony knows what's best for you."
