Does it finally understand left/right/up/down? The previous ChatGPT image generator didn't. So you couldn't get it to move something in the image to a location you specify, unless you spent a lot of time and effort figuring out ways around this limitation, and that usually didn't work either.

just another thing we don't need 'a new era of image generation' - we so need regulation on these companies and their new slop models, they are just allowed to release stuff like this and see what happens, duh, bad things will happen, people will be fooled, it needs to stop.

I just checked their announcement. It's getting scarier and more realistic each time. AI has changed the way I enjoy art, every post may be fake, every photo may be AI, I have to check every time something interesting shows up in my Bluesky feed. It's so annoying for me.

And it's dangerous as well. People will get scamed. You know how they try to fool old folks with the "grandma I had an accident, please send me some money immediately" trick? In a few months they will be able to copy any voice they want. Better set a secret safe word with your family whenever there is a doubt that the person on the other end of the line is not who you think they are.

The more someone uses Ai, the less human they become. They simply become a bus for the information the Ai scrapes. At that point, why does that person need to be there at all?

Do you really think most people are any more than a regurgitation of the data they’ve been fed and trained on?

but a "breakthrough" for who. I doubt it's for the good of humanity. for bad actors? yes. C2PA is not even a reliable solution.
