Did you see all the deepfakes of the fake cctv of a crime occurring or someone robbing a store? I mean now are courts going to have to see if footage is real or not? All it takes is one person having a serious problem with you and trying to make fake videos to destroy your reputation. A fake video could get you fired or even sued and then all the problems related to that.

Agreed.
I also find it pretty depressing how some people "like this!" or think "these videos are fun! what's the problem?"

Why do I need consent to create a likeness? This assumption is false and frankly narcissistic of actors. Creating a likeness of someone for satire or comedy is a 100% legal artistic option.

This type of complaining is why Chinese models are starting to eclipse US models. They dont have to bog everything down wondering if Bryan Cranston is going to complain someone made a video of his likeness. So on the one hand you have Cranston and on the other you have Shaquille ONeal who gets on Sora and allows anyone to use his likeness and is now in 1000 videos (strangely with Marylin Monroe alot).

People are irrationally worried about AI and these videos but it's already legal to make someone likeness and have them do whatever you want as satire. The majority of videos on Sora are obviously satire.

Martin Luther King saying "6-7" in a million videos is pedestrian but its going to be the future and if US companies spend their energy on censorship they are just going to be further eclipsed by Chinese companies focused on technology first.

I'll keep saying it. This technology is being advanced in order to train media consumers to dismiss images and video as being generated by AI. To train us to doubt the evidence of our eyes and ears.

Nah, there's not a homelessness crisis, that video is just AI. This is just the beginning.

Yep, they know what they're doing and its insane.

There alot of people saying there is no use for this stuff....but this is not true.

Imagine I couldn't make a video with the likeness of Donald Trump mocking him (or Obama, or Clinton, or Bush or etc). Imagine using their likeness became illegal. That is what people are proposing when they say there is no legitimate use. You must take the silly videos with the legitimate political satire and utility. AI, like all artistic tools, makes it possible to do both.

Using their likeness? Fine. Make your silly cartoon or your sketch with an actor in a campy costume. We love that.

Generating a photorealistic video of them saying heinous things or committing some atrocity? Where do we draw the line?

We dont. We embrace free speech. Because without AI this all still exists. AI just makes it easy.

Those Sora videos are hilarious
Yeah they are great. These celebs are focused on the 0.0001% of people using it for bad(which will be the case with anything) instead of everyone actually using it to make funny videos that only increase your personal brand and popularity with older work. Short sighed IMO.

Also, with SAG involved it is 100% about money and not some higher purpose bs.

Imagine being as shady and low as OpenAI, then you have the gull to lecture others about being the good guy, etc…OpenAI needs to go out of business fast
