Phill Schiller and Eddy Cue are on there. I mean, it's not the Tevanian / Rubenstein podcast we all want, but it's something.
OpenAI's hands were forced with this - open models are getting super performant and society needs to be exposed to the SOTA so the conversation can be had.
If Phil opened his cameo so that people can create infinite random versions of him saying “Can’t [insert thing] anymore my ass!” That might actually borderline on amusing.
Here’s the problem about this “conversation”, everyone is desperately trying to make AI happen for ordinary consumers and no one is really listening to ordinary consumers if this is something they want… it’s just like crypto. Silence on failure to reach the masses is not open willingness to keep having crap slung into the pool to see if anyone will play with it.
The truth is, generative AI is something that is going to be useful to 20% of people 80% of the time and 80% of people 20% of the time for the foreseeable future now that the novelty has worn off and the fatigue of the constant hype cycle is kicking in.
