Disgusting company with zero moral or ethical standards.

I hope they collapse.
… and collapse before Sam and Jony can release the “revolutionary” palm-sized ChatGPT-powered device. Apparently, development of the latter has encountered significant hurdles:

Just remember that if someone criticizes you for eating meat, driving an inefficient car, and running your air conditioner when it isn’t extremely hot due to the impacts for climate change, you can respond that their AI slop videos might be as bad or worse. Between AI and crypto I honestly don’t want to hear about it. And frankly, eating, transportation, and interior climate control are all higher priorities than this AI garbage.

This shows a clear demand for products like this.
Sure there is a clear demand. Most people love stuff when it’s free… just watch China Uncensored for what happens when free stuff is on offer.

But who’s gonna pay for it?

When the debts come in… and AI bills are HUGE… people are going to be casting the blame at each other.

AI only works because it has been trained on stolen content that has cost humans countless millions of hours of effort to create. And a few companies are benefiting obscenely from those millions of hours at the expense of all future generations.

We still don’t know how true future cost of AI and likely won’t until it’s too late.

I get in just by creating an account with the old 1.0. A couple days later I noticed I could log into the new Sora app and it asked me to create an account again and Bob's Your Uncle.

Don't forget it's only available in Canada and USA for iOS only... Actually I'm kinda mad that limits are worse than before... Like you could :

- make 100 vids per day
- make 5 vids at once
- make vids about pikachu, Mario bros and other comics that you know

----

Now you can :

- make 30 vids per day
- make 2 vids at once
- no more pikachu

UNLESS YOU PAY 200$ PER MONTH

When something is not available in the EU with its strict(er) privacy laws, it's the perfect red flag
Member when people uploaded everything but jizz samples to Facebook? What privacy? Imagine what they are telling ChatGPT.

And there is 23andme for the jizz sample part LOL

If you browse the media created on sora, it’s like 98% spank bank material.

Want to try it out. Waiting for it to be available in my country. Don't know when the invite only access will come to an end.

It's invite only and I don't have an invite!

How did 1 million peeps get ahead of me. I'm a ChatGPT Plus user!!
Same. I am paying money and desperately waiting for an invite. I use Grok in the meantime and it generates less amazing videos but very fast. Less than a minute. So gives time to work shop ideas.

They are all hit or miss but I’ve found Grok to be the best for animating old photos, creating from your imagination, etc.
I use it as well but still trying to get on SORA. And Grok is crazy fast at image and video generation which is huge.

If I go to art school am I stealing the art I see? That i learn from?

Am I stealing the books that I read when I learn from them?

AI is going to make a few people rich...no doubt. But it's also going to give us tools to save alot of time and effort and make new things. Amazing things.

Where the heck do they store all this generated data. The accelration of storage requirements for data just blows my mind!
While that is significant it’s likely nowhere near the level of energy increase needed to generate those videos.

Generating a text string via AI to answer a query on average takes 10x the energy of trawling 400,000,000,000 records Google has in its database.

Generating an AI video is anywhere up to 10,000 times as expensive as running text search query.

The energy consideration will likely be far more important than the storage. After all storage can be limited, and older videos can be deleted or removed. But you cannot delete the Energy cost of a query that has already been generated.

This bubble is getting real…bubbly.

Exactly how do they make money on this? And how is it useful for mankind? It’s producing a slop social network that burns tons of fossil fuels and raises the price of electricity for all of us. Video AI is so much worse from a perspective of GPU and power usage and therefore cost. This is a net loss for everyone. At least standard ChatGPT is useful for researching non-critical things and helping me complete programming tasks faster and uses way less resources comparatively.

Look up the circular nature of investing in AI right now. And then look up the current percentage of GDP that AI takes up. Hint: Corporate investment in AI infrastructure is outstripping consumer spending right now. If that’s not a red flag, idk what is. Historically consumer spending is about 2/3 GDP. This is gonna make the .com bubble look like a fart in a bathtub.
