Mac Radeon 3870 OUT IN THE COLD !

At least in 421a...the 3870 doesn't show up when I run oclinfo.

There may be a last ditch reprieve coming in 432/GM but I wouldn't wait by my cable modem.

Bad news for the Megalodon crowd.

I guess it works.

Thanks for that!

Ah well, should've probably gotten the 8800GT instead of the 3870. Here's hoping the GM build proves otherwise.

9800GX2........about to roar?

In the "should have sold it by now" pile I have the 9800GX2.

With Netkas brilliant package, it too works in 421a.

Sadly, it is still no better than a single 8800GT at any given benchmark (that I have)

And yet, the very means to run it, an additional 8800GT, as far as OpenCl is concerned is a bevy of 4 total devices, when combined with CPU unit.

Could be an interesting option, if the drivers ever work out.

is there any way someone could do this opencl test with a 2006/07 mac pro and the 4870? I don't have SL installed yet, so...

I put it in the 4870 OpenCL thread

the missing info was explained by Netkas...values are being "fed" from ATI kext, not read from registers. Not sure why. Hence the 128Meg RAM, no extensions, etc.

I am planning to buy the GTX285 for Mac.

I already have a 9800GTX that I use onmy P35-DS3L on 10.5.8, could I use the 9800GTX on theMac Pro as OpenCL/CUDA engine only ora as a second card?

I guess the combination of the GT120 and the GTX285 is in any case good.
