Hi I trust all are well
May I ask ` question about OCLP on Mac Pro 5.1
I have Sonoma Running fine one a 2010 Mac Pro but I find when I try and use Migration assistant from Time Machine back up the Migration Assistant just snaps back to log in page
I have turned on and off automatic log in but same issue, any idea's ?
Thanks

I have a 2008 Aluminum MacBook with OCLP 1.5.0 and Ventura on it. I see the same behavior. At that point the log-in page shows not only the user ID of the user I set up as part of the OS installation but also a “Setup User” with an unknown password. I therefore cannot get back into the Setup User log-in session.

I had a bootloop after installing Sonoma on this Mac and using the migration assistant. No bootloop without the migration assistant but glitches with apps that require AVX and AVX2. I returned to Monterey.

I ended up installing Sonoma with the help of OpenCore Legacy Patcher (OCLP), which, by the way, required booting into Verbose Mode (don’t ask why). I also did not use the Migration Assistant after that. I just set up the user account from scratch. This was a machine I got for free from a client, which I upgraded to 8 GB of RAM for $15. I did spend countless hours on it, in order to get it to that point, but I chalk this up to being a learning experience, and it’s my hobby, anyway.

I have seen the same behavior.
If I need a new volume, I do a full clone of my Monterey system and upgrade that.
You might also be able to Carbon Copy Clone a Data clone and install the new system on that.
