I want to 'unlock' the blanked out Atmos controls in the Music app. I do not have an approved device connected and I do not wish to buy something purely for this software unlock. I DO have a full Atmos 7.1.4 reference system and listen to lossless Atmos with the Dolby reference player app.
I understand the Music app decoding is for lossy streaming Atmos ONLY. Apple whitelists approved devices. I understand that the newer computer models are on this list as approved devices themselves. (Even though there is no output ability on the device itself beyond the most compromised mode of binaural folddown to stereo. It's all about access.) That leads me to wanting to add my computer model to this whitelist as a workaround. (MacPro5,1)
I've tried to ask for help finding and editing the whitelist. Similar to what I've seen done with the Dosdude patched installers or some OpenCore ability to bypass blacklisting (or more accurately add to a whitelist). No responses so far on this one! Is this a software license violation to even ask or something? Dolby really has the lockdown this tight? Could there be an Opencore solution to this? Can anyone offer any clues to looking for said whitelist file?
Thanks!
