opening a imovie 06 project in imovie 08

am i able to load a imovie 06 in i movie 08. cant figure it out.

It's been my experience that the two file formats aren't completely compatible because iMovie 06 has transitions that aren't available in iMovie 08. You can open it but it doesn't render correctly.
